Yangon, Myanmar

I worked for a year in Yangon, except I didn't! Flights and accommodation were booked, but first Covid-19 and then the coup put paid to visas being issued. What followed was an entirely online work experience. Frustrating maybe, but no different to what people the world over were having to contend with. But all that pales into insignificance when considering what befell the people of Myanmar - such lovely people at that. In happier times I had twice travelled to Yangon before, hence the photos here.

Botataung Pagoda above is especially well known to Thai people who make the trip over to seek blessings. Almost every note placed in the outstretched hand
was a twenty-baht note.

If you get the chance to go to Yangon, all being well, take into account the traffic. It can take well
over an hour to get across town at the wrong time of day.
