Wat Chalong, Koh Phuket

Wat Chalong, also known as Wat Chaiyathararam, is the most important wat on Koh Phuket. It was built in the late 1800s and is dedicated to two monks who led the fighting against the Chinese rebellion in 1876. The 60-metre tall chedi is reputed to contain a bone splinter from the Lord Buddha.
