Wat Ban Den, Chiang Mai
Wat Ban Den is situated 45 kms north of Chiang Mai, and requires a convoluted drive to find it. It means literally, 'splendid house', and there's no argument there. The temple complex holds 12 chedis, all styled after zodiac animals. Even on an overcast day the structures sparkle, offering your camera any number of angles.
Splendid house indeed, and all refurbished since 1988.
