Wats Lok Moli and Khuan Khama
Chiang Mai
These two wats are diagonally opposite each other, divided by the city moat, in
Chiang Mai. Wat Lok Moli has a long history, being mentioned in a charter from 1367; the chedi was commissioned in 1527. Wat Khuan Khama dates from 1492 and is also known as the 'Horse Temple'. The story goes that when a soldier's much loved horse died, he donated the land for the temple, which was then dedicated to the horse.
