This Chinese community settled in the Huay Yai area just north of Jomtien Beach, over 100 years ago. The street market which only operates on a Saturday after 3pm has just got going again post-covid. The actual long name for the market is Talad Chumchon Jeen Boran Baan Chaak Ngaeo – or usually just Chaak Ngaeo for short. There is a great atmosphere there, particularly after dark. The mainstay of the market is food, and there is no shortage of tasty options for a sit-down or take away.
