Some fifteen kms south of Kanchanaburi, Wat Tham Seua sits on a small hill. Built in 1973 the seated Buddha is 18 metres high and is the centre-piece of the wat which commands 360-degree views over the adjacent plains. The seven-storey hexagonal chedi is open, so you can climb to the top and take photos which look like they have been taken by a drone. The site once had a cave apparently, and you can guess what used to live in there! ​ ​(Not to be confused with the wat in Krabi of the same name.)
