If you have been to Koh Samet and are driving back to Bangkok, you will likely use Highway 36. This is a speedy dual carriageway (mostly three lanes now) laced with heavy-duty traffic from the Map Ta Phut-Rayong industrial areas. Your route will pass a huge reclining Buddha visible from the main road. It is worth a stop and a chance for a bit of calm before you enter the fray once more.
