The War Remnants Museum makes for an absorbing visit. Besides the obvious war materiel in front of the main building, there are rooms on several floors dedicated to a chronological record of how the wars unfolded – the French War and the American War as they are known locally. Over the years the museum has undergone a significant upgrade, not just the fabric of the building but also the display cases and exhibition notes next to them. When I first visited in the 90s it was all rather a mishmash, now you are taken on a professional tour, with or without an audio guide. For folks of a certain age, this is a ‘must see’. Of any age, probably, judging by the people milling round.
