I never quite made it to the famous Tsukiji fish auction, the 04.30 am start may have had something to do with it. These days the auction is located at the new Toyosu Market, leaving its old location, the Outer Market, to focus on food and drink. Many of the outlets offer small plates of assorted seafood delicacies which you snaffle while standing at one of the tall tables, whilst likely balancing a drink. On this occasion, standing outside was not for the faint of heart. Neither were the pricelists, it must be said!
