The Tokyo Dome was opened as a 57k all-seater venue in 1988. It is the home of the Yomiuri Giants baseball team and might expect to host 70 fixures in the regular season, as well as play-offs and internationals. The Dome is part of the Tokyo Dome City entertainment area, with an amusement park nearby (the eye-catching Thunder Dolphin roller coaster makes an impact as you enter the area). Concerts are also held there with all the big names appearing over the years. As for sport, anything goes, from figure skating to monster trucks – the seating is configured accordingly. You may also find events of any description making for a grand day out, not to mention cosplayers doing their thing nearby. Pictured here: a Giants game, a post-performance troupe selfie and glamorous cosplayers.
