This laterite stone tower is in a suburb of the town of Chaiyaphum, making it very easy to find. It was built in the 13th century during the reign of King Jayavaman VII as part of the public health service. It was an arokaya sala, one of 102 medical stations positioned at key locations throughout the Khmer Kingdom. Evidence suggests that spiritual, as well as medicinal healing was provided.
