Phu Ruea is a plateau in Loei Province with a peak of 4,478 feet (1,365 m). Lying in the Petchabun Range, it is part of the Phu Ruea National Park close to the border with Laos. The peak is popular with tourists for the chance to see sunrise and low-lying clouds, as well as experiencing year-round cool temperatures. The approaches to the plateau present a table-top vista before the road turns this way and that as it climbs to the top. The parking spot leaves a short walk of about 1.5 kms to the viewpoint, although there is also the option of a buggy-cart style bus. Fresh air and distant views await you.
