Meuang Boran is in Samut Prakan Province south of Bangkok. It is a 1972 reconstruction of an ancient city, covering some 320 hectares and comprising 116 structures, making it the largest outdoor museum in the world. It is the brainchild of Khun Lek Viriyaphant who is also responsible for the Erawan Museum, also in Samut Prakan, and the Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya. The best way to get around is to use your car, or hire one of the golf buggies that are available. Each building will hold your gaze for some time, so allow a few hours for the visit!
