Khao Kho is a National Park in Petchabun Province. It possesses a very picturesque landscape, consisting of rolling hills and hidden valleys. A patchwork of fields makes for a very un-Thailand-like vista, with strawberries, poinsettia, and all manner of market garden flowers and vegetables being grown. Many go for the hilltop views looking down on the clouds, but you have to get the right season for that, and even then you may find key view-points to be rather crowded. Want a selfie with flowers as a backdrop? Come on down!

The rather splendid Wat Phrathat Pha Sorn Kaew
can be seen for miles all around. |
New Year's Day, December 21st, in the Hmong village of Khek Noi. A festive occasion with folks strolling
in the sunshine in their finery. Check out the blog post about Khao Kho. Faces rather crudely blurred here (local laws), despite getting some great portraits! |
You wouldn't be surprised to bump into a Sylvanian family, or a hobbit or two at the very least.
