Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park encapsulates sites of the same age as Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai, dating them to the 13th-15th centuries, when the Sukhothai Kingdom flourished. The laterite temples and fortifications nearest to modern Kamphaeng Phet are divided into two sites separated by a main road. The sites are spread widely so you need a car or taxi to make your way around. The forest-and-lawn landscaping is all immaculately well maintained, making for a memorable dappled-sunlit walkabout!
